Privacy Curtain

HCSC offers a curtain laundering program to support your Infection Prevention efforts. Reusable privacy curtains are high touch areas that need to be laundered frequently. Our laundering process makes your curtains hygienically clean according to TRSA® and HLAC standards.

Regulatory agencies include privacy curtains as part of their inspection process. HCSC bags and tags every single curtain for adherence to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) protocols.

Comprehensive Curtain Management

HCSC Full Service Curtain Program manages everything from removal, installation, and documentation. Each curtain is labeled with an RFID bar code, which provides proof of hygienically clean processing. Back up curtains are provided for the department while the soiled curtains are being laundered. Each laundered curtain is scanned, folded, and scheduled for re-installation.

Contact Us

There are many different circumstances surrounding curtains and the recommended time between cleanings. If a privacy curtain is soiled with bodily fluids or is from an isolation room, the curtain needs to be removed and hygienically cleaned. For this reason, we recommend keeping a few clean back-up curtains, as these can be changed immediately, reducing interruptions to patient care.

While we do not sell or supply hospital curtains, we do provide temporary curtains that are installed while we launder your soiled curtains.

Most privacy curtains get laundered twice yearly. This program is highly customizable which means you get to choose the frequency that best fits your hospital and needs. A standard hospital until might not need the service frequently whereas the ICU could need them laundered weekly.
